Abstract
The sublime thoughts of Rumi's Masnavi, despite the simplicity of his language and expression, require elaboration due to its richness. Kurdish poets and scholars have extensively expounded on his sublime concepts and thoughts. Numerous copies of commentary on The Masnavi written by Mulla Idris Bedlisi, the Kitab al-Ma'arif composed by Sheikh Abdul Rahman Talabani, Al-Marased fi Kashf al-Maqassed, which is a commentary on the Dibajah al-Masnavi of Jalal al-Din Rumi composed by Mulla Ahmad Barzanji, and the commentary on the Masnavi written by Mulla Hamid Bisarani are kept in various libraries. The existence of these works shows the importance of Rumi's poetry and thought among the Kurdish people, especially the existence of the commentary on The Masnavi written with the employment of Persian poetic forms indicates the extent of the popularity of Rumi's works and the Kurds’ interest in his mystical thinking and transcendental ideas. These commentaries and the multitude of different versions of each of them indicate the importance of teaching The Masnavi in schools and student quarters. It also shows that in addition to poets and scholars, people of knowledge also had a close relationship with Rumi's The Masnavi, and it was their companion and friend in solitude
