Studying the centers of writing medical manuscripts in the Qajar period Available in Iranian libraries (based on Fankha: Union Catalogue)

Abstract
Purpose: The Qajar period is one of the most important historical periods in the history of medicine in Iran. The purpose of this research is to identify and examine the manuscripts of this era in terms of cities and writing centers and their linguistic diversity.
Methodology: This research was done in a library manner and with a descriptive-analytical research method. The statistical population of this research is the medical prescriptions of the Qajar era available in Union Catalouge of Iran Manuscripts with a frequency of 3136 medical Manuscripts of this period. The data collection tool is a checklist; And data analysis has been done with the help of statistical tables and graphs.
Findings and results: Among the researched manuscripts, 1135 manuscripts with non-repetitive titles were found, 265 of these manuscripts were written by the Qajar era, and the rest are numerous copies of these manuscripts.
Regarding the cities of writing manuscripts, the cities of Tehran (28.5%), Isfahan (8.3%) and Shiraz (6.4%) are among the most active cities in the field of writing medical manuscripts in this period.
The findings of the research show that most of these copies were compiled and copied in the large and modern school of Dar al-Fonun, with the aim of teaching and meeting the educational needs of these scientific centers. Libraries were also with 4 cases, houses with 3 cases, mosques with 2 cases, and finally, the telegraph house, Dar al-Saltaneh and the castle were in the next positions with 1 case each.
